Question by Vladimir Putin: Why do stupid idiots cheat in online chess with a computer simulation in the background?
in my last game… this guy apparently disconnected twice.. when he reconnected after 3 minutes??? he played a very strong move.
I countered his strong moves and….. disconnect AGAIN
then reconnect… surprise surprise strong move played by him.
I feel like getting a gun and shoving it in his mouth and pulling the trigger. What is there to be gained from cheating on an online website which requires a paid membership to play in? no prize money was at stake.

Answer by Bad boi Because some people just need to get laid.
I think some people are just jerks because they are insecure and have no lives. They cannot do anything right so they need a computer game to win at and feel superior.

Question by Nicole Gabriel: Are there any computer version chess books? (Not ebook)?
I find chess books to be very helpfull in improving my chess play; however, chess studying thru a chess book is very time consuming and confusing at times because I have to set up a board and have to follow the annotations included in the book. I would like a chess book especially about strategy or game assessment that is made as a computer version software where the lecture is there via text or audio and the positions are played by pressing on the board arrows.

Answer by Peshka Master In my training I use the software from Convekta.
Their programs are tailored to different strength levels and focus on various aspects of the game: tactics, strategy, endgames, etc. The have a free demo with many tests and explanations that you can download and try for FREE (I have no connection with the company): http://chessok.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=7_26&zenid=0c8uivj2914k6214cuc23gen64

OK thanks. I am playing black. I like this reply as a lot of people move the queen out which is weak and risky, but that forward white pawn seems to cause me problems.
I’m quite new to chess. I started playing about 8 weeks ago, playing about 3-4 hours per week. I have just started training with Chessmaster 10th edition and I beat players ranked around 1050.
What is a good training time per day? Is playing against a chess software a good way to learn. Do I need books? And, most important, how long would it take me to become a **decent** player?
Hi, I was playing this guy with my BabasChess Graphical Interface for FICS (free Internet Chess Server) and I don’t think I’m that bad a player, however, he was DESTROYING ME. I think he was using a computer against me or something because the moves looked like that of a computer. Very materialistic moves. Anyways, is there a way to find out whether your opponent is using a computer against you. I know he may have been really good but I just want to know if you can do that. Or is there no way to tell?
