Hey everyone! This is a new video of mine featuring the Sicilian Defense, Sveshnikov variation. In this video, I go over several lines of the Sveshnikov, and some opening theory. Check out my next Sveshnikov video for a few games featuring the Sveshnikov. Hope you enjoy!
The London System is a great opening for beginner chess players as it is an easy way to develop your pieces properly and doesn’t involve any crazy tactical lines early on. www.thechesswebsite.com Chess Software used in the video can be found at http and www.chessok.com
Sorry about the opening rant. All these Olympic slideshows are getting very annoying, especially the ones that get you to click by promising real footage. It’s the deception I’m opposed to. Yes, I realized the irony: my videos are slideshows of chess positions :-p This is a discussion of the early tactics in the Philidor Defense with 3…Nd7. This is crucial information for any 1.e4 player and especially for you Philidor Defense users — You will learn this stuff through experience eventually, why not here?
most people think it’s good to stick to one opening in chess, but i like to alternate between openings depending on my mood.
maybe i’m not really as serious about it as i should be.
The Petrov Defense is a chess opening that looks to mirror white’s first two opening moves in hope for a usually drawish game. Black has to be careful though as it is unsound for him to continue to mirror the moves after white captures black’s pawn. In this video we take a look at the three most common lines that you will see in the Petrov Defense. www.thechesswebsite.com
What’s a good positionaly sound chess opening for white? I find that my favorite opening for black is the Caro-Kann because I find it to be very good posistionaly and white has a hard time cracking it.
What’s a opening that would be similar to the Caro-Kann but on the white side?
I’ve been doing the queen pawn opening, but I find it to be too aggressive for my style.
