Hi there, had allowed enough time to complete the last part of my assignment on memory, attention and learning in relation to chess expertise.
I have covered memory and learning – but my little girl got ill today (i’m a single mother) and I haven’t had the time to do all the research. Just some relevant ideas would be great.
Thanks you guys xx

obviously im not going to do your homework for you, but here is a basic premise: basically, theories of attention have to do with how we select which aspects of the environment to attend to. when you think of a chess board, there are a lot of pieces there and a lot of stuff going on. a novice chess player may not know which pieces are most critical and require the most attention. an expert on the other hand will have a better understanding and will be more selective in how they allocate their attentional resources. this will also allow them to make quicker and smarter decisions regarding their next move.
