Most Common Chess Opening?

Most of the grandmaster used P4K or e2-e4 opening. Why P4K or E2-E4 is the most used opening in chess? I am always thinking about it when playing chess.

There are several strong openings, but this is the easiest to learn, so it’s usually recommended for beginners. Even at high levels, though, it’s still a very strong opening, so it’s not just a beginner opening.
