Chess Openings: Blackmar Diemer Gambit
The Blackmar Diemer Gambit is one of the most aggressive lines that white can play as it gives up his king’s pawn as early as the 2nd move in the game and then looks to also give up his king’s bishop’s pawn. White does this to have an advantage in development and keep the black king at bay while white punishes black for his lack of development www.thechesswebsite.com Chess Software used in the video can be found at http and www.chessok.com

very intresting!
Do the Spielmann Gambit
I am weak in middle games, i play the openings properly but after that i just dont know what to do, i saw the (middle game strategy) but i think i need more help.
yeah i find my self in a good position but then he does something and it goes wrong
“A lot of times black players are gonna look at you and think your retarded” Lol, nice
knight to b5 i think could lead to an unblockeble knight to c7 forking his pieces and going up in pieces if not tell me plese
Great vid as always Kevin
thnx kevin nice!!!
Interesting…I had used this gambit and I instead of the person bringing out his bishop he pushed his e7 pawn…I was able to fork his king and rook and won with a nice checkmate eventually.
Ahem. Please be careful with that R word. I love this segment but I am an assistant coach a Special Olympics Basketball Team. They work hard and do not need such comments aired. Having said that, I very much enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.
cheers Kevin!
love this opening i played a somewhat blackmar diemer gambit and was down by 19 to 12 and still ended up winning and this was in the 14 move to
if they slav-defence the queens gambit, then couldn’t you play the exchange variation then go in to a kinda-sorta blackmar diemer gambit?
nice video!
it’s an amazing strategy for early game =D
@zex cooley i had the same thing happen, this is an interesting opening, i enjoy the openings where you play aggresively. thanks kevin.
can anyone recommend a sound opening for white,[besides queen gambit]
can anyone recommend a sound opening for white,[besides queen gambit]
@dinobrya
meh, fair enough I suppose, but it seems to me that a lot of people are going out of their way to try and be offended. There was no offence intended, and to be in my opinion you are being a bit precious here.
@seamusf100
The Giuco piano can be interesting, particularly when played with the evans gambit (not sure if evans gambit is sound though)
@damo2353 I am not trying to be offended. I was offended. I would say it again. Perhaps you were “trying” to ignore the following: “Having said that, I very much? enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.” Perhaps you missed that part.
Great Video!!!
second part covers the original games played by Diemer
Great games
Mates in 10 moves usually
What a blunder !!
The BDG is my favorite opening! Unfortunately the variation demonstrated in this video (The Ryder Gambit) is dubious at best. After White castles long, Black has the advantage: 7. O-O-O? Qxf3 8. Nxf3 c6 -/+ Andre- Reinhard, Correspondance game).
Now if Black fails to take the White’s D Pawn with 5..Qxd4!, White has chances! Thanks for posting a video on my favorite gambit, which doesn’t get enough respect.
wow ok ive been looking up and reading up on this gambit, and everywhere they say you will rarley win with this gambit. People continue to criticized this way of playing. why is that?
