ChessTeacherJoe, if White plays Ne3, surely black will still play h5, protecting the knight from the queen attack? Am I missing something?

I think even after 5.h2-h3? ..h7-h5 6.d2-d4 or d2-d3 still gives white the superior side.

When black plays 4..Ng4? WHite should begin to laugh loudly. He should assume that his opponent is a total idiot and play 5. Ne1!!. This move lets the queen attack the Knight and perhaps the plan of g3 followed by Ng2 and Nf4. This will cause black to lose on time because he won't understand why the hell you're making random and stupid Knight moves. Really, rather than trying to understand chess, just make stupid moves and hope your opponent is stupid.

(sorry for spamming :-p)
truth is that 4...Ng4 was done maybe too for 5.d4 exd4 6.Nxd4 Nge5 (maybe Nce5!?)with nice knight at e5,but I think that this position is still ok with white. I have to analyze it sometimes :)

I mean 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 Nf6 4.0-0 Ng4 5.d4 exd4 6.Nxd4 Nxd4 7.Qxd4 Qh4 8.Bf4 and I think position is equal if not slightly better for white ... just my guess. I did not tried to put it on chess board and analyze it properly, but generally what I wanted to say was that 5.d4 looks like correct answer to 4...Ng4 since 5.Re1 weakens f2 pawn (for the idea what you showed)and after 5...Bc5 is kind of late for d4. I would take the liberty of call for response
