Chess Openings: Petrov Defense

The Petrov Defense is a chess opening that looks to mirror white’s first two opening moves in hope for a usually drawish game. Black has to be careful though as it is unsound for him to continue to mirror the moves after white captures black’s pawn. In this video we take a look at the three most common lines that you will see in the Petrov Defense. www.thechesswebsite.com

nice vid. first
lmao @ not being able to resist the urge to say first xD
wow Darksenrine, you were the first to post… try saying “first” when you discover the cure for aids or cancer.
Hey Kevin,
@2:55, if white decides to take f7, black has to take with his king; can it be good for white to do that as black won’t be able to castle?
Someone did that to me recently and even though I was up in material, it messed up my whole game and I end up losing quickly.
(I am a terrible player though, just started playing again 2 weeks ago, after like 15 years…, for a friendly tournament at work; I still did good on other matches because of your site though, thx
)
