I’d study Alekhine’s games. He was excellent at making games that redefined convention offensively.

I would prefer playing as Alekhine’s style as White and Morphy or Marshall as black.

If you play like Morphy you’d better BE Morphy these days. Anybody with an ECO will kill you otherwise. It’s OK, though, to pull out a King’s Gambit as an occasional surprise. There’s some shock value in the audacity of trying it in current play. There are some dynamic lines in the old Ruy, and of course Sicilians from either side can be just what you like. For most of the e4 openings, main lines reflect the fact that they’ve been around since that style was de rigeur.

The Scotch Gambit. 1e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 d4 ed 4 Bc4 …

There is no way to stop Black from being stupid and trying the Caro-can’t, French, Alekhine, or Pirc. (Sicilian can be open and dynamic. )

As black, you are screwed unless you want to do a counter gambit. (Yes, black can close it if open, but it costs him to open it if closed.)

If you want dynamic play, as opposed to staid. Alekhine depending on opponent, Fisher, Marshall, and Tal or any player from the 19th century. (Zukertort, Andersen, etc.)
