Question by giggling: This is rough as I don’t know if this is even a form of any kind but, here goes the dream……?
We all gather, like a family reunion, one you want to be at!
the old church building now a house, more full than ever it was
when congregations met….poets oozing from every corner.
Food is overflowing the tables to the side. Thighs, Ham, Sausage, Steaks from the grill, veggies, chips, desserts galore! Drinks of every kind and of course, COFFEE to mainline–giggles.
The great room has 3 rows of tables with 4 tables in a row. Couches sit in a circle nearby with a TV and computer tables mixed around.
Ely, Elaine, Evadne, Jellz, DAHha and Musing are involved with Scrabble–the board in poetic phrasing as Sin, Ma and I are ‘helping’ whomever will listen. Reenie, Jenny, Blue Bell, Cilla and Not Pretty are nearby playing poker and adding their 2 cents to the Scrabble game as well…….On the next row of tables, Buk and Alobar are ignoring their game of chess as they argue the finer points of life’s meanings with Fr.Al, TD, and Dondi adding their meanings as well. Mek, Neonman, Semper, and Regwah are playing poker and add their 2 cents to everyone’s conversation at will. Sunny, Kyuu, Rony, and Joe K are teaching the computer games a thing or two talking of what else, but women! Dragon, Foggisan and IWMD are meandering about poking here and their and everywhere.
Suddenly the power goes out and with darkness rising, there are screams and obscene words uttered about. Giggles, the helpless romantic giggles and drags out the oil lamps. With the lighting just right, FrAl blesses the food and everyone dives in. Regwah jumps up on a table and starts a tale of surfing to curl your hair and one by one, the poets get up and add their share.
You want to make this more exciting, add 3-6 lines of a story you told at the party that lasted 36 hours!
Cilla, please go on!
I just realized C.S. Scotkin isn’t in the story, she arrived late but stole the dance from Blue…….
Kyuu–I am sorry!
Jellz–giggles! I can see that, there is room in that old house/church!!! (The building is real, my parents used to own it!)

Answer by Cilla ?
I stood and told the story of the time I was driving along the Ohio River into Portsmouth on a quarter tank of gas. No money in my pocket I just drove and drove to get away from a “monster.” I noticed an innocent looking young man standing on the side of the road – he was hitchhiking. Now, daddy always taught me not to pick up hitchhikers, but I thought – I can’t be much worse off than I am now. Broke, driving an old Geo Prism going toward who the hell knows where in Ohio. So I pulled over and picked him up. Under that floppy hat was the most sweet, innocent face I’d ever seen. We drove around for a while in silence. He told me he had no where to go, but if I wanted to drive around some more he’d give me $ 10 for gas. So we drove and ended up at a park by the river. He had his guitar with him and played me the most beautiful song I’d ever heard. He told me he didn’t want to go any further so I left him in the park with his guitar. I drove and as I looked in the rear-view mirror the boy was gone. Leaving only the lingering tune he played with no pic on a beaten up acoustic.
