Against d4 I play d5, followed by e6 and kn-f3, with the intention of putting pressure on d4 by playing c5.
I always assumed this was an iteration of the Caro Kann, but I am not sure. I would like to read up on this defense but I am not sure which one it is. Can anyone help?
The Caro Kann is one of the most popular openings for black against the common e4 move from white. Black looks to play c6 with the idea of immediately playing d5 next, attacking the e4 pawn. This defense is one of the few moves that is thought to be not only equal for black in the main line but many times advantageous as black reaches a better pawn structure in the end game. www.thechesswebsite.com Chess Software used in the video can be found at http and www.chessok.com
What’s a good positionaly sound chess opening for white? I find that my favorite opening for black is the Caro-Kann because I find it to be very good posistionaly and white has a hard time cracking it.
What’s a opening that would be similar to the Caro-Kann but on the white side?
I’ve been doing the queen pawn opening, but I find it to be too aggressive for my style.
