Hey All you chess people out there, I have a simple question. I am trying to find the name of an opening and having lots of trouble. Please help, here are white’s moves. Black’s aren’t as important.
1. P-Q4, P-Q4
2. P-K3, …(P-K3 or N-KB3 or P-KN3, etc)
3. B-Q3

A really good chess player taught me this opening 20 years ago and I can’t remember what it is called. I would also accept Links to websites with this opening. No commentary requested, follow up questions sure.

I have heard that it can stunt a chess player’s growth; however, I have gone up 400 points in my USCF rating in the last 12 months alone and have done well with the Colle against players up to 2200. I don’t have any GM aspirations or anything, but I also don’t want to run into a wall since I only play one opening with white.

I have the Colle is limited and realize its not played at the highest levels, but it this really true?

I have never played chess in my life. Can you possibly give a basic understanding, the rules, and how it all works?

It was so embarrassing when my little cousin asked me to play chess with him and I didn’t know how. Then my relatives found out and started laughing at me. They are so mean lol. They just wait, see what a great chess player I will be (hopefully).
