My Girlfriend has OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) which mnifests itself in her having constant, very strong fears and anxieties about commonplace things, which prevent her from concentrating on anything. I used to have this too, and computer games really helped me calm down and get my mind off of whatever was scaring me.
I need something that we can play together, which will suck her in, be ‘addicting’ almost, something like lemmings, but two-player.. I know that’s impossible, but I mean in terms of puzzle/action level… Something preferably real-time.. I thought of serious games, like Age of Empires, or Starcraft, or something, but because she is so far away it will be hard to get her into something so complex. Something like a team puzzle game, like ZUMA or SNOOD for two players would be cool. Or maybe with a bit more change/story…
Something free, or with a demo-before-buying would be awesome, but not necessary.

i just bought a new laptop it has 4 gigs of ram so im looking for some good computer games that i could play i have a xbox 360 so i dont want to play call of duty or gears on cpu i just want some games that i can waste a lot of time with the only game i have right now is chess and risk thiking of getting wow or guild wars but what do you like that you think i would like

So I suck at Chess, but when I play some chess computer games, when I move in for checkmate, the game often declares it a "Pat!" game rather than checkmate. These are not stalemate situations. they often happen with a queen and rook trapping the king along the baseline.

I am not sure if this is true. Games require a different set of thinking distinct to themselves. Math is like a game in itself and has it’s own distinct “rules.” If playing chess improve your mathematical skills then it should also improve your computer games skills, which does not seem very likely to me. Do you disagree? Argue with me here!
