Question by : I’m looking for simple games to download for my computer. Any ideas for sites that are free of spyware, etc.?
I’m looking for simple games (500 kb or less) that contain no spyware and no viruses. They need to be compatible with a Windows Vista format computer. I don’t care much for complicated games. My favorite games are rummy, scrabble, chess, checkers, and backgammon. The simpler (ex. tic-tac-toe, hangman, card games) the better. Any ideas of some great sites I can go to to download some of these type of games (freeware please). Thanks for your help and I look forward to your answers.

I have a Lenovo T61 and after sitting in boring lectures and seeing people playing solitaire and chess, I thought of playing a game. Unfortunately, when I go to the games explorer it is empty. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get the standard games on my computer?
i tried searching games in the start menu and the only thing was the empty game explorer and when i do the control panel way i click the turn windows features on/off and it just opens up windows features which is empty

First you can try searching for the games in the search bar under the start menu. If they aren’t there and if Vista is the same as XP, you can insert the installation CD and choose to install the games from there. I have Vista but have never heard of this bug before.

Or under the Control Panel classic view, go to Programs and Features. On the side there, click on “Turn Windows Features on or Off”. You can turn games on from there too. That is the easiest way if it works.

they are the built in games such as Chess Titans, FreeCell, and Mahjong Titans. i’ve had mmy computer for over 4 months and now i double click them and nothing happens!

Well, when you try to sit at a table and can’t, you may see a little icon at the bottom of that window with a red circle and red line through it. Click on that icon and click on “temporarily allow pop-ups” or if you prefer “permanently allow pop-ups from this site”. You should then be able to sit and play. Otherwise, go to Yahoo Games Help and type in “why is my game not loading”, which will list several reasons and solutions to try.

Where can i download the default vista games
such as chess, inkball, solitaire and all the usual default gams for the 64-bit vista os
because somehow they all got deleted and now it just redirects me to the saved games folder and theres nothing there
(my computer game with vista 64 bit pre installed)

No but they can make you think more strategically… if you play chess often enough a really hard computer than yes it can make you a really good chess player… i used to do that for practice and i won $ 100 for a chess tournament before… but i stopped…. bottum line… it wont make you smart… just more strategical… and playing chess on the comp may help you… but it depends on how hard the opponent is
