Question by pete b: how do i make the chess board bigger on yahoo online games when strecthing page and zoom do not work?
just bought a gateway and chessboard is smaller.when zooming it only makes text bigger. is it the vista or can i configure board on my computer?

There is one way of making it bigger…but everything will be bigger. I find it easier on the eyes…..go to your desktop..(Bootup window) right-click on a blank part of the screen…select “personalize”…then select the “display Settings” Adjust your resolution to a lower level that you are comfortable with…your screen will blackout for a few seconds when it makes the changes. It will prompt you to except the new settings on a timer….just in case you don’t see it.

Question by Sweet Dreams: I cant play yahoo games, and i dont think my computer has Java?
I understand Yahoo has been having problems, but this problem has been going on for quit a while. I cannot load up a game room in Yahoo games. You know, where you can play with other people… chess and checkers and pool and such… but anyway, my hard drive is a 2001 compaq and ive just recently had it cleaned professionally. Im not sure if the guy whiped out what my computer uses to load up games or not. When i click on a room to play in…it sends me to a sponser page as normal, then it says to “click to continue” so i do. When i do, the room page is supposed to load, but it doesnt. it automatically says “done” in the corner and the bottom part of the page that has the “thinking timer” on it telling you how fast its loading disappears. and the top says “give it 3 minutes, if not, click here” so i click there, and the same thing happens. I dont know how to get it to load up those game sites! please help.

If i remember right yahoo games uses Java.. goto http://www.java.com and be sure you have the latest java.. also be sure you are using the lastest verson of yahoo messenger http://messenger.yahoo.com

just bought a new computer(gateway) and do not know if its the windows vista or can i go into a program on my computer to make things bigger. when i zoom the text get bigger and not the board.

Contact Yahoo and tell them you want a bigger board or you want your money back. You could always print screen and put it into Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, but that’s only if you move very slowly. How about trying a third party browser like Firefox or Slimbrowser? I get different results that way. Alternatively play checkers, you don’t even need to be able to see the board. lol

I’ve seen it before where you can play the games you find on Star Trek, like the Tiered Chess, and Kotascot(sp?). Not real ones, but ones I can play online for free. Can anyone help me?

Question by Andrew: Is there any good chess games i can play online. and someone to play with that can help me get better?
I am an ok chess player. this year my school started a chess club and had a tounament to find the best 10 chess players in the school and i won all of my games. My school is versing another school that is really good. I have no one to play with and im sick of playing against the computer. can someone please tell me a good online chess game where i can play with real people. i would prefer a chat box so i can ask better players for tips and help.

I want to find a site that lets me play games with other people in the world. Pimpernel.com doesn’t work on my computer anymore. Where can I play games like: Checkers, Reversi(Othello), Mancala and even Tetris.
(I’m looking for a site with most, if not all, of these games. Don’t just give me different sites for each game)
