Can machines and computer learn?

Question by : Can machines and computer learn?
If someone made a machine that, for example, plays poker, could it learn from its mistakes in one game and not make them in the next? Or could it learn certain moves in chess from someone using them against it?

Question by Hadi: Chess players with an ELO rating of 1700 and above, please help me learn chess.?
Hi
I have a number of questions about improving my chess skills.
1. Is there a computer chess game that provides move analysis after the game or during it? With hints and everything?
2. I couldn’t find a particularly useful website offering good chess lessons. The available tutorials aren’t much useful since in order for them to work the pieces must be at certain places otherwise you can’t pull that cool move. Any really cool website?
3. What’s the best way to improve my chess in general? Reading lessons? Playing against computer? Playing against human players?
Thanks a lot

Play lots of very slow games against players that are better than you 60 minutes 45 minutes 90 minutes is even better. Blitz is good but it’s junk food try and not over do it if you’re serious about improving. Play against a Computer Engine at its highest level even if it destroys you repeatedly you’ll improve your learn about the weak points in your game and areas that you could improve in.
