The Blackmar Diemer Gambit is one of the most aggressive lines that white can play as it gives up his king’s pawn as early as the 2nd move in the game and then looks to also give up his king’s bishop’s pawn. White does this to have an advantage in development and keep the black king at bay while white punishes black for his lack of development www.thechesswebsite.com Chess Software used in the video can be found at http and www.chessok.com

The Petrov Defense is a chess opening that looks to mirror white’s first two opening moves in hope for a usually drawish game. Black has to be careful though as it is unsound for him to continue to mirror the moves after white captures black’s pawn. In this video we take a look at the three most common lines that you will see in the Petrov Defense. www.thechesswebsite.com
The Grunfeld Defense is one of the most popular chess defenses against the d4 opening from white. Black looks to play a hypermodern defense by allowing white to control the center of the board and counterattack the center with this minor pieces. White much be careful and defend properly or his center control will vanish. White also has the option to decline and continue with a more aggressive line. www.thechesswebsite.com Chess Software used in the video can be found at http and www.chessok.com

In the Albin Counter Gambit, black aggressively tries to undermine the center control of white’s opening of the queen’s gambit line. If white is not careful he can fall into man traps, including the Lasker Trap which has an underpromotion as early as move 7. With correct play white can keep his advantage in the Albin Counter Gambit but if white is not well versed in this opening then black can not only equalize but have a winning game.
In the Pirc Defense, black tries to defend the center with this minor pieces. This chess strategy is considered a hypermodern opening. After fianchettoeing his bishop to g7, black looks to control the dark squares in the middle while still allowing his light square bishop a great diagonal to develop. If black is not careful white can put lots of pressure on the kingside of black, limiting the development of black’s pieces. Black must counterattack to put up a fight. The Reti Opening is a very flexible chess opening that can transpire into other common openings for white. Instead of controlling the center with pawns, white looks to use his minor pieces to put pressure on the center. For more analysis on this and other openings check out www.thechesswebsite.com
