So I suck at Chess, but when I play some chess computer games, when I move in for checkmate, the game often declares it a "Pat!" game rather than checkmate. These are not stalemate situations. they often happen with a queen and rook trapping the king along the baseline.
Question by ta ta for now: In the game of chess, can you castle your queen?
I was playing a game of chess with my husband and i tried to castle my queen (just like a king can castle his position).MY husband tells me that is NOT allowed! ..And i could’ve have sworn that when i played CHESS with the computer he was allowed to castle his queen. so please tell me is this a legitamit rule in the chess game or am I just making things up?
What unusual or surprise chess openings/variations should I prepare for an interschool chess tournament? I have already studied the main lines/variations of common openings (Ruy Lopez, Sicilian, King’s/Queen’s Indian, etc) so I’m not too worried about them. I want to adopt an opening that will surprise my opponent – assuming he/she likes to play by the book
Any advice is appreciated.
Here’s a game that surprises from the first move!
