The Three Phases Of The Chess Game
A long chess game falls into three categories or parts:
A. Chess Opening : The armies mobilise, and ‘mass on the frontier’;so to say. During this process, however, ‘border’ incidents or skirmish may appear befor the main battle begins.
B. Chess Middle-Game : Now the war has begun in real earnest. Just as there are different types of warfare, from trench fighting to blizkrieg, so our middle game may start by steady manoeuvring for position, or else by the quick opening up of the lines by Pawn exchanges, followed by early clashes. The game often finishes in the middle game through a successfull attack on one of the kings.
C. Chess End-Game : Characteristic strategy of end-game play: the struggle to obtain and finally to Queen a passed Pawn;the use of the King as a fighting Unit.
We shall now be dealing with the three parts of the chess game one by one. The game of chess is like the war without any bloodshed. So each phase has its importance. But unless you learn how to fortify your position or array your troops there shall be only the opening and not any middle or end phases! So learn them by heart because in the beat of the game you are likely to get affected by the local conditions and after these golden rules about developing your position which is given in the chess learning’s articles.
